Scientist by day, writer by night…and on the weekends I run, drink wine, and write some more (sometimes all at the same time).
I have been writing—in some form—my entire life. As a child I wrote and directed several plays, where I forced the neighborhood children (and their pets) to take part. As a teen I wrote numerous short stories, but got in trouble nearly every time I let anyone read them because they were too scandalous. Now that I’m all “grown up,” I am a scientist, and have been fortunate enough to co-author dozens of papers published in a variety of scientific journals…but I am not as passionate for technical writing as I am for fiction.
A few years ago, I ventured into novel-writing with Life in the Asylum, and have never turned back. Since then I’ve written Adele, The Unseen, and Letters from the Asylum (a sequel to Life in the Asylum). I have also been working on a compilation of short stories called: Trick-or-Treating After Midnight…stories from a dysfunctional childhood. The stories just keep coming, so I’m running with it.
I am represented by literary agent Lois de la Haba, and I would like to thank her for her patience, and for believing in me and my scandalous stories. Thanks also go to Bruce Scali for editing my first novel. And, I absolutely MUST thank Tom for always agreeing to be my PIC–don’t know which one of us is crazier.
Southern California has been my home since the late 80s. I live near the Pacific with my blended family, two chickens, and three neurotic cats.
